The partnership between KPSP and local schools is integral to our shared mission of providing local, culturally appropriate, and nutritious foods students. We have found that students consume more fruits and vegetables when they are fresh and purchased locally, especially when local is right here in their community. The proximity of KPSP and their farmer partners gives schools the ability to serve produce within a very short time frame from when it was harvested, sometimes on the same day. This quick turnaround time allows schools to provide students with high quality, nutrient dense produce that ultimately has a positive impact on their health today as well as for future generations to come.
